MINUTES OF 2nd MEETING OF EDITORIAL TEAM OF PAKISTAN JOURNAL OF ISLAMIC PHILOSOPHY

The 2nd meeting of Editorial Board of Pakistan Journal of Islamic Philosophy was held on December 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM. The following members attended the meeting:

1. Dr. Iftikhar Alam

Editer-in-Chief,  Pakistan Journal of Islamic Philosophy

2. Dr. Hafiz Jamshed Akhter

Editor,  Pakistan Journal of Islamic Philosophy

3. Dr. Zia ur Rehman

Managing Editor,  Pakistan Journal of Islamic Philosophy

The meeting formally commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Iftikhar Alam, welcomed the participants of meeting. The board was briefed about the agenda of the meeting. The Editor-in-Chief initiated the discussion and presented the agenda items one by one. The following agenda item was taken up for consideration:

  • Change the Frequency of the Journal from Quarterly to Biannual w.e.f 1st January 2026.
  • Increase/Exchange in number of National & International Editorial/Advisory Board Members.
  • Any other items with the permission of the chair.

Item.1

  • Change the Frequency of the Journal from Quarterly to Biannual w.e.f 01-01-2026.

The members of Editorial board were briefed that as number of submissions to our journals has decreased, so, it has become necessary to change the Frequency of the Journal from Quarterly to bi-annual.  So, after discussion, it was decided that the Journal will publish its issues bi-annual (two issues per year) w.e.f. 01-10-2026 onward.

Item. 2

  • Increase/Exchange in number of National & International Editorial/Advisory Board Members.

The members of Editorial team were briefed about the Increase/Exchange the Editorial/Advisory Board Members. It was unanimously decided that well reputed National & International Professors/Researchers will be added in Editorial/Advisory Boards after seeking their consent.

Item. 3

  • DOAJ Indexation

The members of Editorial team were briefed about the DOAJ Indexation of Pakistan Journal of Islamic Philosophy since 2021. And as per HEC Journals and Publications Policy-2024, amended on 5th November 2025, Clause-5, applicable w.e.f 05th November 2025, "[All National and International journals indexed in Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) (other than those indexed in Web of Science (WOS) (Scopus)]" will be recognized by HECand placed in Y category. According to this clause, Alhamdulillah our journal has beed placed in Y Category.

Letters have been sent to honorable Editorial/Advisory Board members for intimation.
